Run 11/26/08

I wasn't in the mood, but I ran anyway. I decided to take it easy. It helped that I had the track to myself. I didn't have to worry about passing and weaving in and out of people. It didn't feel too cold until I actually started running. My core was warm, but my hands were frozen. It didn't help that it was kind of windy. So about 12min into it, I ran back to the car to grab my gloves. Then about 8 to 9min after that, my hands were toasty, so I took them off and put them on the bench. See, I have the wrong kind of gloves that I figured I could do without. They're the type you would use if you were throwing snow balls and such. And they're rather bulky. I should invest in actually running gloves so that I'm not putting them on and taking them off.

I stopped off at Produce Junction before making my way to the track. I decided on swiss chard and red bliss potatoes. I made two lentil loaves a couple weeks ago and figured I'd save one for Thanksgiving. So the plan is to add some mashed potatoes and gravy with sauteed swiss chard to the mix. I figured that's easy enough to make after work. Yep, you read that right. I have to work tomorrow. I hate my job. Oh, and my job would be the reason why I didn't run yesterday. I had it in my head to run after work. But instead I left with a ridiculous headache (I'm sure they're migraines at this point). So not much happened when I got home.

And on that note, I'm off to snuggle up and do much of nothing. Maybe I'll treat myself to some Ghiradelli hot cocoa and graham crackers. Yeah, I'm living on the edge. LOL. Night all.

Music: Brazilian Girls
I've had this album, along with many others, on my mp3 player for months. I figured I'd listen to something new (to me). It was Kool and the Gang.

Run 11/24/08

Today was a heatwave compared to the other day. And I ran after the sun went down, so lucky me. My plan was to run this morning. I went to bed around 9ish. Yeah, I was beat. I woke up around midnight, talked to a friend for over an hour, then went back to bed. But I figured I should have been rested in the morning. Well, not so much. The alarm went off, I reset it, and turned over. How do you morning people do it in the winter time? Any tips? Please share.

Okay, so the schedule called for a 15min run. When do I ever follow the schedule? I figured that I could muster up the energy to get in a few minutes on the track. I was not driving all the way to the Y. The time it takes to drive there, I could be finished running. Anyway, it was uneventful. I didn't have my music. It's not often that I do really short runs with music. But today was one of those days I really wanted to hear a certain song. But my mp3 player was giving me issues. So no music. So I'll just leave you with the song I wish I ran to.

Run 11/22/08

While I was running, I had it all figured out in my head what I was going to blog about. I was planning to catch you all up. But now I'm just not in the mood. Maybe later. I'm too busy trying to warm up. Yeah, I ran in 32°F weather. I know that sounds like a heat wave to you folks in those big, chunky states (Yes, I'm referring to the midwest). And I'm sure I'll be wishing for this type of weather once January comes around. But for right now, it's too damn cold. Can we fast forward to spring?

So I finally got my butt out to the park. It's sad because I was off all last week, and not the least bit motivated to run or bike anywhere. The colder and darker it gets, the more I wanna stay in bed. And now that I'm back to work, I'm less motivated. I leave at 5pm, but it looks like it's 9pm. I get home around 5:30pm ready for bed. Then I have to remind myself that it's not even 6 yet. A couple times this week, I came home from work and just dozed off. I did happen to get my period today, so maybe PMS was a factor as well. In any case, I completely understand why bears hibernate. I may join them.

Well, I'm feeling less crappy. So I think I will start catching up with all of you. I know, I've been bad. I haven't even opened Google Reader in about a month or so. But I will. I promise. Anyway, I'm off to finish my Ghiradelli cocoa and bundle up. Have a great weekend!

Run 11/10/08

I've been bad lately. This whole work cutting into my day life thing isn't working for me. Oh well. I did take off work all this week, so maybe that means I'll do all my workouts. Maybe. But yeah, work just gives me a headache. Jess, I think you're right. I have migraines. I've never really had a normal headache before. Drugs really don't work for them. And for the most part, I need to be in a dark, quiet room and just sleep. So yeah, work makes me feel like crap. And when it's over, I'm not up for running.

Anyway, I've been headache-free since I've been home from work. It's my birthday, and it's a gift to myself to get as far away from there as possible. Yesterday, I traded my bike ride for a walk around NYC with the other half. We had an early dinner and drinks at Aja. Today, I actually ran at the Y. I'm not feeling this weather at all. And it's a shame because it's not cold compared to real cold. I'll want these days back come January.

So I'm heading out tonight to Silk City to hopefully wear a groove in the floor. It's been a while since I've gone out to dance. This job, I tell ya, just takes it out of me. If someone wants to hire me for a non-aggravating job, I'm all for it. Otherwise, I'll be on here complaining and such or I just won't be around often at all, which is already happening. Yeah, too tired to catch up on blogs with a splitting headache. And I spend a lot of time job searching. I swear, I will catch up with you all. I just have to find another gig first.

Anyway, I need to get ready. Have a great week everyone!

Run 11/3/08

I stayed home from work. I woke up with yet another headache. That's what work does to me. I wish I was exaggerating. I go to work, get a headache, come home, go to bed, and oftentimes wake up with the same damn headache. And this morning, I was just not feeling it.

In any case, since I've been so bad with working out, I felt like I should have done something when my headache eased up. The bad thing is that the nausea didn't ease up. Yeah, I forgot to tell you about that part. I guess headaches and nausea kinda go hand in hand. Well, I made it through without tossing my cookies.

And on that note, I think I'll try to make it an early night. I'm hoping to vote before work. I've never had issues voting before, but you'll never know who will decide to show up. But then again, there are a lot of polling places here for a town of about 40,000. So I'm not really worried. Anyway, I'm off. And don't forget to vote!
